Track
1....."Popstars"
The single, recorded mainly in StuStu Studio [the rest at Dave's house],
engineered and produced by Sander van Herk and Fragment. This is the
one you should be hearing on a radio station near you very soon...hopefully.
It was written by us all, although the original idea was Jono's. It
supposed to be humorous, though I imagine some might see it as a comment
on the present state of the music industry.....[style over content/looks
over talent/machines taking overl etc. etc...]. In turn, this may then
be seen as sour grapes from a bunch of ugly, embittered old musos, who
have so far dismally failed to produce a hit single....You can check
out the lyrics HERE
It also
contains a fantastic piece of whistling, which brings to mind the halcyon
days of the great Roger Whittaker....

Track 2....."Blow me Away"
Dave wrote, recorded and produced this
one, in which case, if you don't like it, its entirely his fault.....
|
Track 3....."Popstars on Gras"
This
is the remix of Popstars, made by Danny Gras our lighting man/roadie/soundman
- it might be a sort of trip-hop type feel, we think, although we're
not entirely sure what that is. Sort of laid-back, ambient atmospheric
electronica type thing, if that helps. I'll put a picture of Danny here,
when I get one.....

Track 4...."www.fragmentlive.com"
Excellent
name for a song....it features Tim waffling endlessly on about God knows
what [that sounds familiar], all in a rather sad and desperate attempt
to plug this here website. Totally shameless, but surprisingly amusing
in parts, we will try to bring you the lyrics to this epic, so that
we too can work out what he's on about, and indeed what he's on.....some
of you might spot a fairly obvious Monty Python/Vivian Stanshall influence,
but nothing wrong with that....

Track 5...."Barbecued
Popstars"
What
do you do when you've got 4 tracks for a CD, and you need a fifth? Find
some shitty old recording that no-one likes and bung it on anyway? Err...no,
of course not [although we'll remember that idea for next time]. Or
take out the lead vocal from the single, and call it the Karaoke remix?
No.....of course not.
No, no, no.... you get your mates round and have a good old-fashioned
sing-song, just like they did in the old days. Huddled around the campfire,
dead animals on the barbecue, acoustic guitars to the fore. The perfect
recipe for "gezelligheid", if not for great musical subtlety.
You get the idea anyway.........
